Joseph Kovac graduated
from MIT with a degree in electrical engineering in June 2005. He is
remaining at MIT for a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, with a focus on
biological applications. He completed the masters phase of the program
in September, 2006. He may consider academia, industry,
entrepreneurship, or technical consulting after completing his Ph.D.
His interests include road cycling, downhill skiing, golf, running, and
weightlifting.
Joseph was a member of
the MIT rifle team during his undergraduate career and received numerous
sectional championship medals. Joseph was the Texas State Rifle
Association Junior Champion in 1998, 1999, and 2000. Joseph was a
member of the USA Under 21/25 Team in 2000 and 2003 to Bisley, England.
In 2000, he fired in the Under-25 Team Match. He fired in the Queen’s
final in 2003. In 2003, he fired in the Under-25 Team Match, helping
the team win the Aston Tankard. He fired on the silver medal-winning US
Under-21 Team in the 2003 Under-21 World-Championship Team Match.

Brian Landwehr attends
the Colorado School of Trades for gunsmithing and will be returning to
his home state of Wisconsin to help his father run the junior program.
He will continue his education with tool and die making classes at a
local technical school. Some of his shooting accomplishments include
being a firing member of the winning 2004 Rattle Battle team at the US
Nationals. He was also a firing member of the second place teams in the
2005 National Team Trophy and National Team Infantry Trophy matches.
Brian qualified for the Presidents Hundred, as well as second place in
the 2006 Whistler Boy Team Match. He has won numerous State awards
including 1st Expert and High Junior at the 2006 State
Service Rifle Championships. He would like to thank his friends at
Stadium View for all their support. Earning a position on the USA Young
Eagles is an accomplishment he wishes his mother could see, but knows
she is looking down at him. This is Brian’s first appearance with the
USA U25 Team.

Curt Leister is attending the University
of Wisconsin - Milwaukee working on a Master's Degree in Applied
Statistics. He is 22 years old and is a Distinguished Rifleman. He has
been shooting competitively for 13 years. Curt has received numerous
shooting awards at both the State and National level. He has won both
the Wisconsin State Highpower Championship and the Wisconsin State
Service Rifle Championship. Nationally, he has received the Alice Bull
Trophy, Clarke Trophy, Golden Eagle Trophy, Whistler Boy Trophy, Bill
Deneke Trophy, Calvary Cup, and the Coast Guard Cup. This will be
Curt's second time traveling with the U.S. Young Eagles. He was a
member of the 2003 silver medal winning Under 21 Team in Bisley.

Kyle Liebetrau is a
senior at Middleton High School in Wisconsin. He has grown up around
shooting and plans to shoot throughout the rest of his life. When he's
not shooting he likes to hunt, play football, mess around with his car,
and hang out with friends. He currently attends Wyoming Technical in
West Sacramento for custom car and motorcycle fabrication. He was the
2005 Wisconsin Long Range High Junior. In 2006 he was the Long Range
National Junior Champion. He also won the high junior plaque for both
the Canadian Cup and the Herb "Doc" Aiken Trophy. He made both of the
1000 yard shoot offs, all in his first time at nationals. He has also
received the Palma Achievement Award. He says his success comes from
his family, his competition, and the fact that he lives so close to the
range in Lodi, Wisconsin. This is his first time on the USA Under 21
team.

David Littlefield is a
contractor working for Boeing Commercial Airplane Company as a Lab
Technician. He is also a proud husband and father. His accomplishments
in shooting for 2006 include Robin Hood Washington State Junior Prone
Champion, where he also tied a Junior National record; Northwest Long
Range Regional Junior Champion, Northwest International Master class and
Junior Champion, Andrus Trophy winner, Sierra Trophy Junior Champion
(second overall). David is also a member of the Washington State Junior
High Power Rifle Team (The Bad Apples). This is David’s first time on
the USA Under 25 Long Range Team

Logan Montgomery is
currently a junior at Franklin College majoring in sociology. He enjoys
sketching, generally being outdoors, and martial arts. Logan is
currently training in Brazilian Ju Jitsu. His achievements include
earning the Junior Palma Achievement award in 2004 and his distinguished
rifleman badge in 2005. Logan was also Indiana's Junior Highpower
Champion from 2001 through 2005. He was the 2005 and 2006 Highpower
Champion, Long Range Champion, and Aggregate Champion in Indiana, As
well as winning the 2005 Regional Championship and placing 2nd in the
2006 regional. This is Logan’s first appearance with the USA Young
Eagles.

Jennifer Nyberg is a
freshman at Liberty High School in Renton, Washington. She has been
shooting on and off since she was 6 years old and has been shooting High
Power since she was about 13 years old. Jennifer also shoots Air Rifle
for her NJROTC program at Liberty. Her shooting goals consist of making
the US Under 21 team once more in 2011 and the Under 25 team for 2015.
In 2006 she won the High Sub Junior National Champion award at Camp
Perry for the NRA week. Jennifer loves hunting, fishing, off-roading,
shooting, art and classic cars |

Sam Ohlinger is a
Political Science major at The Ohio State University. He plans to attend
law school upon graduation. Sam was a member of the 2003 Young Eagles
U25 Team and competed in Bisley, England. He won the 2005 General Hough
Trophy at the NRA National Matches. He was the 2005 Ohio Long Range
Service Rifle Champion. As a member and Captain of Ohio State’s Varsity
Rifle Team, Sam has been a three year Scholar Athlete and Academic
All-American. Sam enjoys paintball, golf, and Buckeye football.

David Shank moved to
Washington state from Wisconsin in mid-2005, and has loved it ever
since. He entered the sport of High Power in January of 2006 in across
the course matches. He then took on the Palma rifle in March. David
moved to Washington to pursue a career in aviation. He loves it so much
it has taken him to almost obtaining his private pilots license. For
college, he hopes to attend the Air Force Academy and major in Aviation.
This is David’s first appearance with the USA U21 Long Range Shooting
Team.

Samantha Taylor
currently attends Westwood College Online, majoring in Web Design and
Multimedia. When she gets a break from taking care of her son, school
and shooting, she enjoys playing softball, running, camping and anything
that involves the outdoors. Sam has been shooting for 8 years, since she
was 13. Her first achievement was making it on the California Junior
Rifle Team in 1999. In 2001 she won High Junior in the Edward D. Andrus
Trophy match. Sam has also received the Palma Junior Achievement Award
in 2004 and earned her Distinguished Rifleman badge. This is Samantha’s
first appearance on the USA U25 Team.

Andrew Wesel is in his
forth year at The Ohio State University where he is majoring in
Construction Management. Drew is in his fourth year as a member of the
OSU Varsity Rifle Team. For the past two years Andrew has been an
assistant coach for the Ohio Rifle and Pistol Association Junior High
Power Rifle Team. When he is not shooting Andrew enjoys carpentry,
hunting, and just being in the outdoors. This is Andrew’s first
appearance with the USA Young Eagles.
